Position: Youth Worker\nLocation: Liverpool, Greater Manchester\nContract Type: Full-time\nSalary: £16.11 Per Hour\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nAbout the Role:\nAre you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to join a dynamic team at a SEMH school in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of young people who require additional support to thrive both academically and socially.\n\nAs a Youth Worker in a SEMH school, you will provide vital support to students who face challenges related to their emotional and mental health, helping them to build resilience, develop key life skills, and engage in learning.
You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the needs of students are met and their well-being is supported in a safe and nurturing environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSupport students with SEMH needs in both group and one-to-one settings\nPromote positive behaviour and emotional development, using appropriate interventions and strategies\nAssist in the delivery of personal, social, and emotional development programs\nWork collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to create and implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) tailored to students' needs\nHelp students build social skills, confidence, and self-esteem through structured activities\nSupport the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and after-school programs\nProvide guidance, mentoring, and positive role modelling for students\nWork with external professionals such as counsellors, social workers, and psychologists to ensure holistic support for students\nEnsure a safe and respectful learning environment by managing student behaviour effectively\nSupport the safeguarding and welfare of all students in line with school policiesEssential Criteria:\n\nExperience working with young people, preferably within a school or SEMH setting\nA strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students\nPatience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude\nA proactive approach to supporting students and creating positive outcomes\nAbility to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external agencies\nA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peopleDesirable Criteria:\n\nA relevant qualification (e.g., Youth Work, Social Care, Psychology, or similar)\nExperience working with children with SEMH, autism, or other additional needs\nLevel 2 Team Teach certification or a willingness to undertake relevant training\nKnowledge of behaviour management strategies and interventionsWhy Work With Us?\n\nAn opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with SEMH needs\nA supportive and inclusive school community with a commitment to professional development\nThe chance to work in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment with a dedicated team\nOngoing training and career progression opportunitiesHow to Apply:\nTo apply for the position of Youth Worker at our SEMH school in Liverpool, Please submit your CV to this listing or alternatively email me at (url removed) showing your interest for the position.\n\n#INDMAN
