Health & Safety Facilitator
Salary: £ Competitive
Location: Scunthorpe
Days: Mon-Fri
Hours: 36.5
Purpose of Role:
To support line management in the development, implementation, monitoring, and administration of the site's continuous Health & Safety (H&S) enhancement strategy.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Assist in developing and embedding a site-wide H&S programme that integrates safety philosophies and practices into daily operations.
* Establish systems and procedures to set and monitor progress at team and plant levels, ensuring H&S improvements are measurable and validated.
* Collaborate with the Plant Manager to define clear responsibilities for executing continuous improvement activities in H&S.
* Promote local H&S targets and strategies to encourage ownership and accountability across all levels of the organisation.
* Identify, with the Plant Manager and Area Safety Manager, the resources needed to support H&S improvements and influence their inclusion in budget planning.
* Foster individual capability to identify, assess, and control risks, supporting the department's journey toward an accident-free workplace.
* Support the Area Safety Manager in identifying, coordinating, and delivering H&S training as required.
* Manage document control and record retention related to loss control, ensuring compliance with health and safety obligations.
* Align H&S systems with environmental and quality management processes to minimise all forms of operational loss.
Knowledge & Experience:
* Strong organisational and influencing skills with a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Working knowledge of H&S processes and relevant legislation in manufacturing environments (preferred).
* NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent vocational qualification.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
