This post is Fixed term/Secondment until 30th June 2026 to cover a secondment.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team, as a Workforce Information Systems Support Officer. The post holder will support the delivery of a comprehensive high quality administrative service.

When in post, the successful candidate will be provided with full training in relation to the area of work, and benefit from a wealth of experience and knowledge which the team hold. You will develop and demonstrate positive values, whilst working towards the organisations purpose to improve health and deliver excellent care.

Some elements of home working may be available for this post and this would be discussed at interview. Interviews are expected to take place on 27th April 2026.


Main duties of the job

To support in the provision of a quality People Systems and Business Intelligence Service within the Health Board through the production of routine workforce information, data cleansing Electronic Staff Record (ESR), supporting Audit and Project Work as required. Generating an innovative approach to the function, acting on own initiative, taking advice from manager as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications/Experience

Essential criteria

* Educated to diploma level or possess appropriate qualifications/experience to support the demands of the post
* ECDL/ other Microsoft Training Qualification specific to Excel or ability to evidence high level of experience.
* Evidence of continual professional and personal development.

Desirable criteria

* Experience in the delivery of training.
* Foundation Prince2 Qualification or appropriate Project Management qualification.
* Advanced Microsoft or Analytical qualification.
* Experience of using ESR Core Systems and functionality
* Experience within a workforce and OD field, administrative processes and human resources planning.

Skills

Essential criteria

* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Ability to cope with multiple tasks and prioritise workloads effectively and meet set deadlines.
* Proven organisational and highly defined communication skills.
* Highly developed and wide ranging IT Skills e.g. Excel, data manipulation, pivot tables, producing graphs.
* Ability to diagnose problems and propose creative and practical solutions.
* Report writing skills, specifically around data presentation.

Knowledge

Essential Criteria

* Establishing links with external organisations.
* Understanding of the BCU and wider healthcare agenda and how it fits with Workforce and OD operational activity.
* Understanding of data systems, business processes, methodology and software.

* Confident, professional demeanour.
* Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Self motivated and resilient.
* Ability to travel during the course of work.

Desirable criteria

* Welsh speaking.
