The Opportunity At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. As our next Project Engineer Coordinator, you will support several DMIC (Design, Manufacture, Installation & Commissioning) Teams through the end-to-end Commissioning process from preparation through to completion. By blending technical expertise and quality assurance knowledge with essential project delivery skills, you will ensure that contractor arrangements align with NNB's expectations. You will oversee the fulfilment of all DMIC Commissioning prerequisites and prepare the NNB Commissioning Team for effective surveillance of DMIC Contract Commissioning. What You’ll Be Doing As the Project Engineer Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that supply chain partners deliver their commissioning work and documentation in alignment with contract and project requirements at every stage. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, you will build strong, collaborative relationships with contractors, HPC project managers, quality leads, site engineering teams, and plant operations. Your ability to foster these connections will be essential in defining and controlling the interfaces within the commissioning process, ultimately driving the project toward success. You will report directly to the DMIC Lead Co-Ordinator within Commissioning Operations and create the DMIC Commissioning Project Plan to track deliverables and schedule adherence. Serving as the key liaison between the Commissioning Delivery Team and Project Managers, you will ensure seamless engagement and communication. Working to the Commissioning DMIC End-to-End process, you will ensure clarity and efficiency, acting as a valuable point of contact for your scope of DMIC Contracts for internal and external stakeholders. Who You Are With a robust technical or project management background, we're looking for you to bring invaluable experience in either commissioning power plants or in coordinating multiple contractors in a complex environment. Your proven track record reflects a commitment to safety and quality cultures, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards. Coupled with your knowledge of quality assurance and quality control requirements, you are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of this field and drive excellence in every aspect of the commissioning process. Good commercial and contract awareness is essential to navigate project complexities within DMIC Contracts. Proven experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to successfully deliver projects is crucial. You should be highly organised and able to coordinate multiple ongoing scopes. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify and convey complex information effectively, are a must. Qualifications such as a Degree, Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND (preferably in STEM fields or other relevant disciplines) would be beneficial, but it is not necessary. An ability to understand and communicate technical topics will be required. Familiarity with working in a regulatory environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, is important. Knowledge of CDM regulations will enhance project safety and effectiveness. Hands-on experience in project management, whether as a client or contractor, within the nuclear or highly regulated industries would be beneficial.
