Volunteer Chair of the Board of Trustees | Merstham Community Facility Trust
We're looking for a Trustee with management experience to take over as Chair of our Community Support Charity based in Merstham, Surrey.

The Chair of Trustees is a key role in our organisation. Your leadership and commitment will ensure we continue to provide and extend our range of much-needed support and services to our community.
What are we looking for?
The successful applicant will have experience of management in the charity sector, preferably as a trustee. They will need to be available to advise the manager regarding any issues by telephone or face to face on an ad hoc basis. They will also chair the regular monthly meetings. As Chair of Trustees they have ultimate responsibility for ensuring the Trust complies with Charity Commission, Companies House and other statutory regulations.
What will you be doing?
MCFT is a vibrant and growing charity dedicated to helping the residents of Merstham reach their full potential. Our work is powered by a wide range of inspiring, volunteer-led projects, all supported by a small but passionate team of five staff members. We’re now preparing for an exciting transition—the current Chair of Trustees will be stepping down at the end of 2025. This gives us plenty of time to warmly welcome and support a new Chair into the role. Like many charities, we face ongoing financial pressures—but we’re fortunate to be in a strong financial position right now. Most importantly, we’re backed by a committed team of volunteers and staff who care deeply about making a real difference in our community. We're looking for a new Chair of Trustees who can help us build on our success and continue making a positive impact in Merstham.
