* To own, maintain and continuously develop the Safety Case for the lifeboat fleet and associated equipment, ensuring alignment with relevant regulatory and organisational standards.
* To monitor, interpret and apply applicable legislation, standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance of assets throughout their lifecycle.
* To manage and coordinate engagement with certifying and regulatory authorities, acting as the primary point of contact for compliance-related matters.
* To proactively identify and assess engineering compliance risks across lifeboat classes and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are developed and implemented.
* To support the development and integration of compliance requirements into the design, modification and operation of assets in collaboration with Engineering Leads, Integrated Delivery Team (IDT) Leads and Project Managers.
* To plan and conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews of engineering activities and documentation, ensuring findings are addressed effectively and in a timely manner.
* To contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering compliance processes and documentation, including guidance, templates and training materials.
* To act as a delegated compliance signatory within the scope of the E&S delegated authority matrix, ensuring accurate and consistent documentation and approvals.
* To support the resolution of compliance-related technical issues and incidents, including root cause analysis, investigation reporting and corrective actions.
* To liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies to ensure coordinated and transparent compliance activities.
* To contribute to the forward look of evolving compliance and safety case standards, and lead integration of these developments into RNLI practices and processes.
* To support the IDTs and project teams in ensuring that requirements are met in line with project timelines and business objectives.
* To undertake other ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed by Engineering leads, IDT Leads or Project Managers, including emergency response planning and documentation reviews.

Essential:
* Accredited engineering or safety management qualification (or equivalent).
* Significant experience working at Senior or Principal level in a related engineering discipline.
* Strong communication skills.
* Chartered or Fellow Engineer registration with the Engineering Council.
* Experience in marine design and engineering environments.
* Experience in the development of Safety Cases and management of design intent.
Desirable:
* Engineering compliance experience, preferably in the Workboat Code or Irish Coastguard requirements and guidance
* Experience in the development of regulation.
* Risk management training (IOSH or equivalent).
* Experience in designing or operating SAR vessels.
