Vanrath are recruiting for a Band 3 Residential Child Care Worker on behalf of a large public sector organization in Bangor on a temporary basis.

About your next employer
The post holder will be a member of the care staff, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to children using the service. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for children with physical or learning disabilities and challenging behaviors.

* Deliver and promote evidence-based practice and care plans
* Contribute to improving effective care using an outcomes approach
* Lead by example to ensure high standards of care, supporting children with physical and emotional needs
* Demonstrate commitment through regular attendance, completing duties efficiently, and participating in team activities
* Assist in assessing care needs for children using the service
* Help in planning care using a person-centered approach
* Implement care for individuals and groups, utilizing a person-centered approach
* Work in partnership with children to meet their needs
* Ensure all children are cared for as individuals
* Collaborate with parents and carers as partners
* Work with other agencies to provide a seamless, high-quality service
* Offer a range of activities to children
* Provide an integrated service involved in the community
* Use knowledge of caring for children with disabilities and challenging behaviors to deliver quality care
* Share client information appropriately
* Participate in shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, night duties, and sleep-in duties as required
* Create a homely atmosphere
* Ensure a safe environment for children, staff, and visitors
About you
You should have either an NVQ Level 2 in care with at least one year's relevant experience supporting families, or an NVQ Level 3 in Care, or two years of relevant experience working with children and families. Additional training may be required to achieve NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Successful applicants must complete registration with NISCC or another relevant council prior to employment.
