Ingham House is a family run residential care home in the heart of Meads specialising in dementia care. We are looking for an enthusiastic and lively Activity Co-ordinator to lead our friendly team and encourage our residents to live the best lives they can.
The successful applicant will have plenty of imagination, energy, initiative and common sense and ideally have worked in a similar setting. You will be confident in carrying out seated/armchair exercises with our residents on a daily basis. Qualifications in activities or care are an advantage but not essential.
Your role will involve:
* Hosting daily activities with confidence and enthusiasm including a daily exercise class.
* A level of creative flair- to support our residents to express their creative sides through art and craft.
* Good administrative skills - ensuring photo albums and notice boards are kept up to date along with monthly newsletters.
* Be competent in completing daily notes and ensure activity care plans are kept up to date.
* Organisation skills - helping to organise fundraising and social events, which includes our annual summer fete and Christmas Fayre.
* Have the ability to promote positive links within the local community and communicate forthcoming events with families.
* Organise and escort residents on daily outings.
* Excellent ability to liaise with team members.
The successful applicant will be required to have a DBS carried out prior to starting due to the vulnerable nature of our residents. This position is perfect for someone with experience of working in a similar role. Some weekend work may be required.
