PPA Cover Supervisor (with specialist interest in Music or Spanish)
Start Date: 3rd November 2025
Contract Type: Part-time, Fixed term (until July 2026)
Hours: 18 hours per week, 8:30 - 3:00pm, (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Salary: £14,689 (FTE £33,012) SP13-15 NJC Support pay scale

The Role
We are seeking a confident and capable individual to provide high-quality and passionate PPA Cover across the school. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons to classes from Reception to Year 6, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining high standards of behavior and progress. You will be responsible for maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment, supporting pupils’ learning and well-being, and contributing to the wider life of the school. There is a degree of flexibility around the subject matter taught, but we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a specialism or passion in a subject such as Music, or Spanish. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring creativity and enthusiasm into the classroom and enrich our curriculum offer.
Who We’re Looking For
While experience in a school setting is preferred, we welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills from youth work, childcare, or other roles involving children. If you have a natural rapport with young people and a passion for education, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging, pre-planned lessons across KS1 and KS2.
2. Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
3. Support pupils’ academic and emotional development.
4. Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
5. Provide feedback to class teachers on pupil engagement and progress.
6. Uphold safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
7. Experience working with children, ideally in a classroom setting
8. Confidence in managing whole-class teaching and maintaining a positive learning environment
9. A good understanding of the primary curriculum.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
11. A flexible, proactive and enthusiastic approach, and the ability to work independently
12. Share our commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all pupils
13. HLTA status or relevant qualifications (desirable but not essential).
