Job Title: Production Planner Buyer

Location: Plymouth (PL6 7LH), onsite role.

Job Description:
We are looking for a Production Planner Buyer to organise production in accordance with customer demand and quality standards, ensuring both schedule adherence and on-time delivery. You'll be responsible for material scheduling, inventory management, and driving efficiency across procurement and planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage material scheduling to ensure on-time delivery of finished products and components
* Confirm orders within production capacity and monitor workflow through all manufacturing areas
* Control inventory from raw materials through to final product
* Identify and mitigate risks across the supply chain
* Process purchase requisitions and maintain communication with suppliers
* Ensure compliance of purchased materials with internal specifications
* Track shipments and manage transport logistics
* Expedite orders when necessary, including air freight if required
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
* Represent the Planning team during audits
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Customer Services, and Senior Management
Knowledge and Skills:
* Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP proficiency preferred)
* Strong Excel skills
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma desirable)
* Strong analytical skills with a continuous improvement mindset
* Ability to build internal and external relationships
* Self-starter and collaborative team player
* Project planning experience
