Axess Sexual Health is seeking a motivated and experienced Band 6 Sexual Health Nurse to join our friendly and dynamic team on a 9-month maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy, patient-centred sexual health service delivering high-quality, non-judgemental care. Applicants must be a Registered Nurse with experience in sexual health and be trained in either STI screening and management or contraception provision. Ideally, candidates will be dual trained in both areas; however, applications from nurses trained in one area only are strongly encouraged, as further training and development will be supported. We offer a supportive multidisciplinary team, opportunities to maintain and develop specialist skills, and a varied and rewarding role within a well-established service.
The post holder will work as a Band 6 Sexual Health Nurse within the axess sexual health service, delivering high-quality, non-judgemental, patient-centred care. Responsibilities include undertaking sexual health assessments, providing STI testing, treatment and follow-up in line with national guidelines, and delivering contraception advice and care within scope of practice. The role includes health promotion, risk assessment and safeguarding, maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, and supporting service accessibility and patient flow. The post holder will work autonomously within their competencies, contribute to the supervision and support of junior staff, participate in audit and service improvement activity, and work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
