The Role: Sustainability IP
A placement in Sustainability puts you at the heart of shaping Unilever’s reputation as the leader in sustainable business. You will plan and deliver sustainability strategy, manage big milestone events that advocate for systemic change, and drive business performance. You’ll gain skills in advocacy, partnerships, innovation, stakeholder management, research, content, writing and strategic issues management in a changeable, externally facing environment. You will work closely with the Communications and Corporate Affairs teams, IPs within the same function, and other functions such as Supply Chain or the sustainability teams in our Business Groups.
The Function
The function is split into three pillars: Communications, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability.
Our Sustainability Pillar
* Setting and leading the Sustainability Strategy
* Lead on global advocacy, partnerships, platforms and stakeholder relationships
* Lead on sustainability agendas that cut across multiple points of Unilever
Day‑to‑day responsibilities
* Gather and summarise insight from external events, policy changes and reports that are relevant to the team’s agenda to inform decision‑making.
* Support Unilever’s senior leaders on advocacy through briefs and events that drive systems change.
* Work on reporting, write articles for our U.com website and distil complex topics into clear, compelling communications.
* Support the pillar during big milestones such as the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, the United Nations General Assembly, COP, etc.
* Support team organisation and management.

Skills required

Please note, at Unilever we have development programmes; the above skills are desirable at the beginning but will be developed throughout the 12‑month placement.

4. Step 4: Virtual Discovery Centre – You will be invited to spend a virtual day in the life with us, immersing yourself in business challenges and an interview.

Location
Hybrid working – a minimum of 2 days per week at our London Blackfriars office.
