Maintenance Assistant - Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr
We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, reliable, and enthusiastic Maintenance Assistant capable of working well under pressure to perform planned maintenance and daily repairs within a hospital environment.
The postholder will assist skilled tradespeople when needed and work as part of a team on coordinated projects.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure the hospital's fabric is maintained as a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
2. Undertake supervised and unsupervised maintenance and repair work to develop skills and knowledge continually.
3. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.

Qualifications & Training
* NVQ Level 3 or relevant recognized competency at this level
* Trained in Health & Safety Awareness
* First Aid certification
* P.A.T. Testing Qualification or willingness to undertake
* Personal Safety training
* Confined spaces awareness
Knowledge & Skills
* Customer care awareness
* Ability to contribute effectively in a team
* Capability to undertake other duties within areas of competence, checked against core competencies in PADR
* Proficiency in Welsh is desirable
Experience
* Experience in general building services
* Relevant work experience in building services engineering
* Hospital environment experience in a maintenance role
Personal Qualities
* Self-motivated
* Flexible approach to work
* Willingness to travel within the geographical area to meet job requirements
