Electrician- Maintenance (Public Sector)
VANRATH is assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an Electrician for 6 months initially with the possibility of extension. The position is based mainly at their Newry site.
The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of maintenance work in electrical and/or electronic disciplines, including related mechanical tasks.
Responsibilities:
* Perform unsupervised electrical and electronic maintenance work based on training and experience, understanding the interrelationships between various maintenance crafts.
* Demonstrate flexibility by performing tasks across different crafts.
* Use relevant tools and equipment for work on electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
* Manufacture, assemble, install, and erect new electrical systems as needed.
* Attend training sessions to learn new techniques.
* Diagnose and repair faults in electronic, electrical, and mechanical plant and equipment, sharing knowledge with others.
* Follow all health and safety instructions in accordance with The Health & Safety at Work (1978) NI Order.
* Provide maintenance services on all plant and equipment as directed.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance, repairs, emergency breakdowns, and new work as per schedule.
Requirements:
* Recognised and registered BITB or CITB Apprenticeship.
* OR approved company apprenticeship with City and Guilds 236 Part 2 or equivalent qualifications.
* At least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience, including a minimum of 1 year maintaining complex electrical and/or electronic systems.
