Consultant Gastroenterology
Shape the future of care at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals
It is an exciting time to join Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH), with consultant opportunities across a range of specialties and the chance to shape the future of care for our Communities.
As one of Yorkshire’s leading trusts, DBTH cares for more than 440,000 people, providing services at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital and Montagu Hospital, alongside a network of community clinics.
We deliver acute, specialist, rehabilitation and outpatient care, supported by strong partnerships with local universities and research institutions.
Our ambitions are clear: investing in high-quality care environments, tackling health inequalities, strengthening our role as a centre for research and education, and continuing our journey to becoming a digitally mature organisation. For consultants, this creates real opportunities to lead service development, drive innovation, contribute to research and education, and influence how care is delivered across our system.
The local area offers affordable housing, excellent transport links, including direct rail access to London in under two hours, and easy connections to Leeds, York and Sheffield. Combined with green spaces and leisure facilities, this supports a healthy work–life balance alongside a rewarding and impactful career.
This is a replacement post to support the Gastroenterology and Medical services within the Trust.
The consultant will be based at Doncaster, but the consultant will be required to contribute to the delivery and development of Haematology services across all Trust sites.
The consultant will participate in the 1 in 18 general medical and a 1 in 8 GI bleed on-call rota. The on-call is classed as Category A and is a 1:7 Rota, which attracts a 3% on call availability supplement.
