Occupational Therapist – Children’s Residential Services
Location: West Midlands & Northamptonshire
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, permanent
We’re working in partnership with a highly regarded provider of children’s residential homes to recruit an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist.
This is a full-time permanent role, offering the opportunity to work across several specialist homes that support children and young people with learning disabilities, complex trauma, mental health needs, and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The provider is committed to a therapeutic and child-centred approach, with strong clinical input embedded into daily care practices.
The Role
You’ll join a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, supporting children to develop key life skills, improve emotional regulation, and achieve greater independence. Your focus will be on delivering meaningful, evidence-based interventions, with a strong emphasis on sensory regulation and trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities:

Complete comprehensive OT assessments and deliver tailored intervention plans
*
Provide sensory integration-based interventions and support strategies
*
Work closely with residential care teams and managers to embed OT strategies into day-to-day routines
*
Support functional skill development including self-care, communication, and emotional regulation
*
Attend MDT meetings, contribute to care plans, and offer training and guidance to care teams
Requirements:
*
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
*
Sensory Integration trained – this is essential for the role
*
Experience working with children and young people, ideally within CAMHS, residential or SEN settings
*
A trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach
*
Ability to work across multiple sites (full UK driving licence required)
*
Confident communicator and team player with a flexible approach
