The postholder will work as part of a team to co‑ordinate technical operations in an academic and research setting, ensuring compliance with safety standards and the effective management of facilities, equipment, resources and technical expertise.
Specifically, the postholder will lead a team of technicians responsible for the Materials, Metrology and Thermofluids laboratories and will provide Health and Safety advice.
About You
* Experience of managing in an engineering laboratory, workshop or other technical facility; specific experience in materials, metrology and thermofluids.
* Ability to line‑manage specialist technical staff promoting a culture of flexibility and collaboration.
* Able to offer technical advice and guidance to academic and research staff, assisting with experiment design and materials testing.
* Track record of operating with high levels of safety, and able to act as School Health and Safety Officer.

£35,608 to £46,049 per annum. Technical and Teaching Specialist grade 6. Subject to annual pay award.
