Overview
We are currently seeking to recruit a Band 6 Multidisciplinary BMS. The posts are for 37.5 hours a week, and involve a full 24/7 rota after a period of suitable training. This post is based at St George's Hospital; however, the post holders may be required to work at any of the South West London Pathology sites as necessary.

Job responsibilities
Full-time BMS role, with rotation through biochemistry, haematology, blood transfusion and coagulation. Full participation in OOH rota in all sections.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
* An honours degree or equivalent in a biological science
* HCPC Registration
* MSc or equivalent specialist experience at Masters level
Knowledge and experience
* Proven experience post HCPC registration in a relevant discipline
* Excellent working knowledge of all aspects of specialist subject in a relevant discipline
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Evidence of ability to problem solve
* Knowledge of internal quality control and assurance in a relevant discipline
* Knowledge of external quality control in a relevant discipline
Desirable
* Demonstrate experience of quality management systems, audits and document control
* Demonstrate experience of training laboratory staff
Skills and abilities
* Able to follow written methodologies or protocols
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to plan and prioritise allocated work
* Competence in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database software
* Use of enhanced pathology computer systems
* Practical experience on a range of laboratory analyser systems
* Proven experience working out of hours rota
