The Role

Day-to-day at Ekco:

We’re looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, enterprise-grade Azure platforms for mid-market and enterprise clients.

You’ll play a key role in delivering Azure Landing Zones and shared platform services using Terraform Infrastructure as Code, helping clients adopt Azure in a way that is secure, scalable, and ready for long-term operation. This is a hands-on, client-facing role that combines deep Azure expertise with strong consultancy skills.

What you’ll be responsible for:

· Design and deliver Azure Landing Zones aligned to Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and enterprise best practices

· Build and maintain Azure platforms using Terraform, including reusable modules and CI/CD pipelines

· Implement core Azure platform services: networking, identity (Entra ID), governance, security, monitoring, and logging

· Embed security‑by‑design using Azure Policy, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, and identity controls

· Act as a technical authority on Azure platform decisions during client engagements

· Support platforms through handover and early‑life support, ensuring operational readiness

· Collaborate closely with architecture, project management, and service delivery teams

· Mentor and coach other engineers, contributing to internal standards and best practices

Key Requirements:

· Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure in mid‑market or enterprise environments

· Proven delivery of Azure Landing Zones or enterprise‑scale Azure foundations

· Deep experience with Terraform, including modules, state management, and CI/CD integration

· Solid understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance in Azure

· Experience supporting production Azure environments and troubleshooting complex issues

· Confident communicator with experience working in client‑facing delivery roles

· Typically 5+ years’ experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles

Nice to Have:

· Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab

· Exposure to hybrid or multi‑cloud environments

· Familiarity with Azure security tooling, SIEM integration, or Cloud Centre of Excellence models
