Title: Safety & Compliance Manager (ERF / Waste to Energy)
Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire
Shifts: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week
The Company:
My client is a national energy recovery company, with over 300 sites across the country. This sector-leading, ethical firm is seeking a controls and instrumentation engineer with experience in industrial, manufacturing, power industry, or similar environments to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a competent health and safety manager experienced in heavy-duty environments such as ERF / waste to energy, power generation sites, paper mills, or industrial manufacturing.
You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive safety and health monitoring regime, ensuring all activities comply with relevant laws, policies, and industry best practices, with safety as a priority. You will oversee power generation or process technology and environmental regulation, including permitting and licensing.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as an H&S manager on similar or industrial sites.
* Knowledge of management standards ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO50001.
* Understanding of waste management technical aspects and quality (preferred).
* IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
* Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
* Practical experience with root cause analysis tools, software, and data management systems.
* Ability to adhere to company policies, incident reporting procedures, management guides, and financial systems.
* Strong leadership skills to develop a team in a start-up scenario, with a no-compromise approach to safety and compliance.
* Ability to work with management to embed a safety-focused culture in a complex workplace.
* Experience with permitted/regulated activities, preferably within controlled emissions environments.
* Knowledge of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS).
* Understanding of the energy from waste/power industry legislation.
* Full UK driving license.
