A leading player in its field is seeking to fill the key role of Head of Compliance. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the Company’s compliance with applicable International Standards (9001, 14001, 22301, 27001), Health and Safety legislation, and other standards to which the company is certified, along with other requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain registers of legislation and other requirements, particularly Environmental, Data Protection, and Health & Safety.
2. Monitor new and proposed legislation.
3. Audit compliance regularly and report non-conformance to the Directors.
4. Maintain management systems to comply with ISO 9001, 14001, 22301, 27001, CPAS, FSC/PEFC, and Health and Safety legislation.
5. Assist the company in working towards ISO 45001 certification.
6. Collaborate with management to formulate company policies and procedures.
7. Plan, direct, and coordinate employee awareness of company policies and procedures.
8. Oversee quality assurance activities and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
9. Support top management in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, strategic, and reputational risks.
10. Maintain risk registers, risk treatment plans, and conduct Business Impact Analyses.
11. Foster a risk-based management culture.
12. Schedule and oversee internal audits, ensuring timely reporting.
13. Track and close non-conformances and preventative actions.
14. Manage external surveillance, due diligence, and insurance assessor visits.
15. Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and preventative measures.
16. Report weekly to the Management Team and provide KPIs and trend analyses to the Board.
As a member of the Management Team:
1. Monitor the impact of customer and operational activities on compliance and risk management.
2. Facilitate incident and accident investigations and resolutions.
3. Set annual objectives.
Experience in the digital space is vital, with a background in manufacturing being highly important. Knowledge of the financial services industry, combined with digital and manufacturing experience, would distinguish candidates.
The compliance team consists of two members. The successful candidate will be a strong people manager, capable of fostering team development while working behind the scenes.
