We are currently seeking a passionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team in Blackburn, providing essential support to individuals with mental health needs.
Position Overview: As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges in Blackburn. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess clients’ functional abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to promote independence and improve overall well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of those in need of mental health support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct assessments of clients’ occupational performance and functional abilities, taking into account their mental health needs and goals.
2. Collaborate with clients to establish meaningful goals and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their needs and preferences.
3. Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to address clients’ cognitive, emotional, and psychosocial challenges.
4. Provide support and guidance to clients in developing coping strategies and adaptive skills to enhance their independence and quality of life.
5. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and support workers, to ensure integrated care and holistic treatment approaches.
6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
7. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
8. Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
9. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a mental health setting.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients and colleagues.
11. Commitment to providing person-centered care and maintaining high standards of professionalism.
12. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
13. Eligibility to work in the UK.
