Support Accountant
Location: East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust (Cambridge). The role will be based at The Meadows, Unit 7 & 8, Meadow Park, St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 4LG, with a hybrid arrangement of 3–4 days per week in the office, and may also work from Norwich Community Hospital, Bowthorpe Road, Norwich, NR2 3TU, depending on speed to up‑skill.

Job responsibilities
* Assist in management accounting, including raising invoices, monitoring payments to suppliers, and supporting annual budget setting processes and forecasts.
* Work with budget holders to produce budgets, forecasts and regular performance reports in line with departmental framework and timetable.
* Provide complex analysis and commentary on the assigned Business Units’ financial performance.
* Support financial controls, systems updates, lease car arrangements and over-payment administration.
* Maintain and reconcile general ledger entries, suspense accounts and the authorised signatory database.
* Liaise with payroll for salary overpayments and recovery of monies.
* Provide financial reports and recharges for temporary staff and other shared costs.
* Assist in internal and external reporting, including returns to external bodies and support to Finance Business Partners.
* Maintain compliance with financial procedures, policies and Trust controls.
* Work autonomously within Trust policies and national guidance.
* Undertake annual accounts duties and other duties as required.
* Adhere to Infection Control, Data Protection, Information Governance and Trust risk management processes.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* NVQ Level 4, AAT Technician Level or equivalent experience.
Skills & Knowledge
* Good technical skills and use of IT systems, particularly MS Excel.
* Team player with an ability to work closely with others.
* Advanced keyboard skills.
* Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
* Experience using Oracle and ESR.
* Ensures that financial information provided to others is accurate, timely and useful.
Experience
* Experience working in a finance environment with knowledge of reconciliations, double‑entry bookkeeping, payables, receivables and financial systems.
* Experience of management accounting within the public sector.
Communication
* Good communication skills; ability to communicate with internal and external managers.
* Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.

Salary
£28,392 to £31,157 per annum pro‑rated.
