Butchery Counter Assistant
£10.85-£12.71 per hour (8-16 hours per week)
We are seeking a dedicated Butchery Counter Assistant to join our team at Castle Howard. This role is vital in delivering high‑quality food products to our visitors and supporting our farm shop operations. Responsibilities
* Prepare and display fresh meat products in the farm shop with attention to quality and presentation.
* Assist customers with their selections, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.
* Ensure all food safety standards and hygiene regulations are strictly followed.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butchery counter.
* Support stock management, including receiving deliveries and stock rotation.
* Collaborate with the team to deliver excellent customer service.
* Contribute to a welcoming environment that reflects the estate’s values of tradition and quality.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in butchery or food preparation.
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
* Previous experience in a retail or hospitality setting is advantageous.
