Our team & the individuals you’ll support

You’ll become part of a friendly team who supports two ladies and one gentleman, all with various learning and physical disabilities to live in their own home. Feel right at home there – there's a homely feel and a separate sensory room within the home.

Along with supporting all aspects of daily living, the individuals enjoy a busy social life and have hobbies such as swimming, arts & crafts, baking, music, movies and shopping trips.

About you

At Cornerstone, we’re more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team. We will pay for your training and provide the practical skills you need to build a career in Health & Social Care. We will also fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and your SSSC registration fees.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Good administration skillsConfidence to go in the water as swimming is a regular activity
  • Confidence in the use of computers
  • An excellent grasp of the English language to support individuals with communication barriers
  • Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and to work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy.
  • Candidates must register with the SSSC within three months of starting employment.
  • Candidates who have spent more than 12 months out of the UK (excluding the listed countries) within the last ten years over the age of 18 will need to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant authorities.

Shift patterns

Shifts include early mornings (from 0700 hours), days and evenings. Weekends, waking nights, sleepovers and public holidays are also part of the schedule on a rotational basis. Sleepovers are paid at £100.80 per night, not included in contracted hours.

Salary

£25,553 per annum (part-time pro‑rata).
