The Senior Accountant (EMEA) is responsible for the final Trial Balances for several European entities managed by the Maidenhead-based EMEA Finance Shared Service Centre. This role involves monthly management of accounts, reporting, tax compliance, and the preparation of annual financial statements and audits.
This position works closely with other EMEA Senior Accountants, Accounting Managers, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Tax to ensure accuracy and compliance with US and local GAAPs.
This is a hybrid role requiring candidates to be commutable to the Maidenhead office 2 days a week (Tuesday and Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing monthly management accounts under US-GAAP, including accruals and prepayments, in coordination with the Shared Services Centre.
2. Management reporting to corporate deadlines, including notes and commentaries.
3. Reconciling all Balance Sheet accounts monthly, including payroll-related accounts.
4. Local reporting such as statistics and tax compliance.
5. Timely preparation and submission of VAT returns.
6. Performing SOX controls for AP and Payroll transactions.
7. Weekly bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
8. Completing annual financial statements, audits, and tax calculations with local advisors and auditors.
9. Ensuring legal compliance for filings and statutory reports.
10. Collaborating with Accounts Payable to resolve vendor payment queries.
11. Producing monthly cash flow forecasts.
12. Assisting with quarterly and yearly tax packages.
13. Coordinating with the EMEA Tax team on local tax audits.
14. Business partnering for accurate reporting and forecasting.
15. Participating in process improvement and standardization projects.
Qualifications:
* ACA, ACCA, or CIMA part-qualified.
* Experience in the technology or fast-growth industries is advantageous.
* Deadline-driven with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
* Motivated self-starter capable of engaging others.
* Proven analytical skills and a strong work ethic.
* Experience with NetSuite ERP and Blackline reconciliation system is advantageous.
