Sai Life Sciences is the fastest growing Indian Contract Research & Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CRDMO). It works with innovator biotech and pharmaceutical companies globally to accelerate their discovery, development and commercialisation of small molecules for a healthier tomorrow.

With more than 3000 staff globally, R&D facilities in Boston, Manchester & Hyderabad, and large-scale commercial manufacturing in Bidar, India, Sai today works with 18 of the top 25 pharma companies globally, as well as many leading smaller biotechs.

In 2020, the company opened its centre of excellence for process chemistry and analytical development at the Alderley Park Science Park in Manchester. The site today has >60 multi-disciplinary scientists (chemists, analysts and engineers).

This is a great opportunity to work with an expanding global organisation and work closely with some of the most innovative biotech and pharma companies on their most important programmes.

The role will be based in Alderley Park, Cheshire, UK and will require right to work in the UK.

The Role and Key Responsibilities

1. Support the chemistry and analytical laboratory teams in carrying out their day-to-day tasks.
2. Manage stock levels, ordering, receipt, delivery and storage of all laboratory and office consumable items.
3. Goods-in and shipping including GMP materials management.
4. Responsible for the preparation of mobile phases and calibration, qualification and monitoring of equipment for the site teams as required to maintain compliance with schedules.
5. Maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical equipment.
6. Key contact with the site services team and/or external contractors to arrange and manage repairs, maintenance, waste collection, glass washing, lab-coat cleaning and shipping.
7. Maintain the laboratory asset list.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience of working in, or managing, an organic chemistry or analytical laboratory.

Key attributes

1. Well organized with good planning and time management skills.
2. Good communication; both written and verbal.
3. A team player.
4. Conscientious with a can-do attitude with good attention to detail.
5. Experience in the use of IT packages such as Microsoft Office.
6. Some experience of working in a GxP environment would be beneficial but not essential.
