Maintenance Engineer £35 per hour | Outside IR35 3 shift Pattern 6-2/2/10/10-6 Rotherham gap technical are representing a market-leading heavy manufacturing business seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to provide contract maintenance engineering services at their Rotherham site. Scope of Services The successful contractor will provide electrical and multi-skilled maintenance engineering services to support the reliability, availability, and performance of heavy industrial production assets. Services will be delivered using the contractor's own expertise, methods, and judgement to achieve agreed outcomes. There is no obligation to provide continuous work, and services are delivered without employee-style supervision, appraisal, or management. Key Service Deliverables Provision of reactive breakdown support to minimise unplanned downtime across heavy industrial plant Execution of planned and preventative maintenance activities aligned with site maintenance schedules Electrical fault diagnosis using schematics, diagnostics, and asset history Identification and rectification of recurring equipment faults, including implementation of permanent corrective actions Maintenance and optimisation of heavy plant and process equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and drives PLC fault-finding and interrogation to support rapid fault resolution and plant recovery Support for plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives Collaboration with production, engineering, and safety teams to ensure safe and efficient operation of industrial plant Support for machinery modifications, upgrades, shutdown works, and refurbishment activities All services delivered in compliance with site health, safety, and permit-to-work systems Contractor Profile Time-served engineer or demonstrable equivalent industry experience Strong electrical bias with proven experience in heavy industrial or FMCG `process manufacturing environments Proven capability working with: 3-phase electrical systems Motors, drives, inverters, and safety circuits PLC fault-finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar) Heavy plant and process equipment Previous experience providing services as a maintenance engineering contractor Able to manage workload and priorities independently, working with minimal direction Strong communication skills when liaising with site stakeholders Availability to support a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, including days and nights Apply To be considered, please submit your CV via the Apply Now option on the website.
