Leader Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and compassionate
Graduate Teaching Assistant
to support learners in a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) settings across Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates seeking meaningful experience in education, SEND support, or a pathway into teaching, youth work or allied professions.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide in-class support for individuals and small groups
* Assist with delivering activities tailored to pupils' needs
* Encourage independence, positive behaviour and social skills
* Support sensory and communication interventions
* Contribute to planning and assessment under teacher guidance
* Build positive, compassionate relationships with learners
We're Looking For
* A graduate (any discipline, Education/Child-related degrees advantageous)
* Passionate about working with children and young people
* Patient, resilient and adaptable
* Strong communicator and team player
* Experience with children/youth (paid or voluntary) is desirable but not essential
* A DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one
