Part‑time fixed‑term Lecturer in History.
Location: York
Salary: £39,906 to £48,822 per annum (£31,924 to £39,057 pro rata).
Overview
York St John University is an ambitious, modern university at the heart of historic York. We are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer to contribute to our vibrant undergraduate and postgraduate offers in History.
Responsibilities
* Teach modern American History at undergraduate level, including the following modules:
o First year – The United States: Empire of Liberty? (survey course, shared delivery)
o Second year – The United States since 9/11
o Third year – Special Subject in American History (JFK and America in the 1960s)
* Deliver small group tutorials, seminars, and lectures.
* Assess student work and provide academic support.
* Participate in shared delivery of other modules.
* Develop an outstanding research profile in History.
Qualifications
* Doctoral level qualification in History or a related field.
* Expertise in teaching modern American History at undergraduate level.
* Interest in developing postgraduate provision.
Other Requirements
* Selection process will include a short teaching demonstration and an interview.
* Role is eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, subject to UKVI requirements.
