Paralegal – Family Law

Location: Sale (with regular work across Sale and Manchester, hybrid working)

Salary: £24,000 to £30,000 (depending on experience)

Experience: Previous family law support experience preferred (paralegal or legal assistant level)

This is a great opportunity for a Family Paralegal to join our client’s Family team, supporting fee earners across a varied caseload and playing a key role in delivering excellent client service. The role is based in Sale, with regular work across both the Sale and Manchester offices, and hybrid working supported.

You will be a trusted support to fee earners, helping to keep matters progressing smoothly and ensuring clients receive a high standard of care throughout. This is a dynamic role suited to someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of tasks, and brings empathy and professionalism to sensitive matters.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Providing legal and administrative support to fee earners across a range of family matters
* Drafting legal documents, correspondence and client communications accurately and professionally
* Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries and briefing notes
* Managing case files and ensuring documentation is up to date and compliant
* Liaising with clients and third parties to support case progression
* Attending client meetings and court hearings where appropriate, taking notes and supporting follow‑up actions
* Supporting new client onboarding and initial enquiries
* Maintaining accurate records of chargeable time and supporting financial targets where applicable
* Supporting business development activity, including marketing and client engagement initiatives
* Ensuring compliance with firm policies, data protection requirements and regulatory standards
* Keeping up to date with legal developments and committing to ongoing professional development


What We’re Looking For

Essential

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and tactful approach
* Empathy and emotional intelligence, with the ability to support clients through sensitive situations
* Excellent attention to detail and a careful approach to deadlines and documentation
* Strong organisation and time management skills, able to prioritise a busy workload
* Confident using Microsoft Office and comfortable learning legal practice management systems
* Proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and driving matters forward
* Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to team success
* Resilience and calm professionalism under pressure

Desirable

* Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
* LPC or SQE (or working towards), although not essential
* Previous experience in a family law team (paralegal, legal assistant, or similar)
