We are seeking a reliable and proactive School Site Supervisor to join our team on a temporary ongoing basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is a split-shift position covering school opening and closing duties. The role is 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around how those hours are worked across the day. For example:
2 hours in the morning / 3 hours in the afternoon
3 hours in the morning / 2 hours in the afternoonExact hours can be discussed and agreed to suit operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Opening and securing the school site each day
Ensuring the premises are safe, secure, and ready for staff and pupils
Locking up and closing the school at the end of the day
Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
Basic cleaning duties where required
Monitoring the condition of the buildings and grounds
Liaising with contractors and overseeing works on site
Supporting school staff with site-related matters
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at all timesThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience in a caretaking, site supervisor, or maintenance role (school experience desirable)
Basic DIY and maintenance skills
Good communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with contractors and staff
A proactive and flexible approach to work
Strong understanding of health and safety practices
The ability to work independently and manage time effectivelySafeguarding Requirements An Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service is required for this role. Candidates without one must be willing to apply for a new Enhanced DBS.
