As their client base continues to grow, our client is looking to wee an Accounts Assistant to their team who can support day‑to‑day operations and contribute to their high standard of service.
Your new role
Working as an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the practice with routine accounting tasks, including VAT returns, PAYE payroll processing, bookkeeping, and general finance administrative duties. This position is ideal for someone with practical experience in VAT and PAYE who enjoys working in a close‑knit team environment. Key Responsibilities: preparing and submitting VAT returns for a range of clients; processing PAYE payroll accurately and on schedule; assisting with bookkeeping duties, including data entry and bank reconciliations; maintain accurate financial records and client files; support the preparation of accounts and financial statements; liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries and provide general administrative support to the team as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience working with VAT and PAYE is essential
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good working knowledge of accounting software (, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) is an advantageStrongmunication and organisational skills
