Our client, East Midlands Combined County Authority, is currently seeking an Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (EVI) Specialist to join their team in the East Midlands. This is a key role, focusing on developing and delivering electric vehicle infrastructure strategies to aid the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon transport system. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and delivery of EV infrastructure programmes, including public charging networks and fleet electrification Act as the technical lead on electric vehicle infrastructure and associated technologies Develop and implement strategies aligned with the Mayor's Transport Plan and regional objectives Manage procurement and commissioning processes, including oversight of contracts and supplier performance Lead complex negotiations with partners and suppliers to secure effective delivery outcomes Manage project delivery, including budgets, timelines, risks, and performance monitoring Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments and private sector partners Lead funding applications and business case development to secure investment for EV infrastructure projects About You: We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a strong background in infrastructure delivery, transport planning, or decarbonisation strategies. Essential Skills and Experience: Experience in transport planning, policy or infrastructure delivery within a public sector or similar environment Proven experience in the procurement, commissioning, or delivery of infrastructure programmes, ideally including EV charging or similar schemes Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects from inception to delivery Knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and partners Experience preparing business cases, funding bids, and strategic documentation Desirable: Experience integrating decarbonisation or net zero strategies into transport or infrastructure programmes Experience building partnerships across public, private and third-sector organisations Knowledge of EV technologies, charging infrastructure, and energy systems Familiarity with analytical tools and software such as Excel, Power BI, GIS or project management systems Qualifications: Degree (or equivalent experience) in transport planning, engineering, urban planning, geography or a related discipline Relevant professional experience within transport, infrastructure or energy sectors Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable Benefits: Up to 10 days paid leave in a 12-month period for caring responsibilities Healthcare cash plan A hybrid work model with remote working opportunities Local Government Pension Scheme Flexible working hours Maternity, Paternity, IVF, Adopters and Foster Carers support Discount scheme Car Benefit Scheme Cycle to Work Scheme 30 days holiday (plus 2 with continuous service) bank holidays your birthday (up to five extra days through salary sacrifice) Costco Membership Discounted Gym Membership Professional Membership Scheme Car Parking Discounts Car Sharing Scheme Our Values: We lift our region: We always put the prosperity of the East Midlands region and its people first when carrying out our roles and achieving strategic outcomes We work together: We always challenge each other to be exceptional, embracing collaboration and acting to lift rather than win, working as one team We make an impact: We always make decisions that are evidence-led and which strengthen our region systemically.
