Due to continued growth and strategic expansion into the Northern Home Counties, we are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Regional Commercial Director to establish and lead the commercial function across a newly formed region.
Based in Bedford, this is a key senior leadership position responsible for overseeing projects across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and parts of Oxfordshire & Cambridgeshire supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio.

The Role
As Regional Commercial Director, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing the region, providing strategic commercial leadership while ensuring robust governance, profitability, and risk management across all projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and developing the regional commercial team, including Commercial Managers, Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors
Establishing commercial strategy, systems, and governance within the new region
Full commercial oversight of multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account
Supporting work winning activities, including bid strategy, procurement, and contract negotiations
Managing risk, ensuring strong commercial controls and protecting company position
Working closely with Regional Operations Directors and senior leadership to drive performance and growth
Mentoring and developing commercial talent within the region
The Candidate
We are seeking a proven commercial leader with a strong track record within a Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 main contractor.
You will demonstrate:
Extensive commercial leadership experience within the construction industry
Proven experience delivering new build and refurbishment projects within relevant sectors
Strong leadership and team development capability
Experience managing multiple projects and large commercial teams
Excellent contractual and commercial acumen (JCT experience essential)
Strategic mindset with the ability to support regional growth
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Experience operating at Commercial Director level or a Senior Commercial Manager ready to step up will be considered.
