The role: Own process engineering of Rivan’s DAC system
The role encompasses the full development cycle, but can be tailored to the specialist skillset of the applicant. We need you to:
* Ideate novel architectures and system integrations for a solid phase, cyclic lime‑based DAC process
* Run bench‑scale testing and analysis of calcination, hydration, carbonation and sorbent cyclic stability
* Own detailed design and optimisation of unit operations across the full CaCO3 → CaO → Ca(OH)2 → CaCO3 loop
* Tightly integrate the DAC module with our methanation and electrolysis units
* Design intelligent, inherently safe high‑temperature, steam‑rich, solids‑handling systems
* Specification and procure equipmentOwn the assembly, integration, site commissioning and testing of our system
Essential skills
* 5+ years professional experience.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
* Experience designing and building plants with solid‑handling.
* Experience with high‑temperature processes such as calcination, pyrolysis, reforming, roasting or thermal treatment.
* Experience working with powders/granular materials.
Additional skills
* HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA leadership experience
* CAD experience
* Chartered Engineering Status

* £70-100k salary depending on experience
