Key Purpose
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting ETL processes, data pipelines, and data warehouse environments. Ensures data accuracy, reliability, and timely delivery by resolving production issues and optimizing system performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor and support daily ETL/ELT jobs, data pipelines, and batch processes.
2. Troubleshoot job failures, performance issues, and data inconsistencies.
3. Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
4. Collaborate with data platform, development, and business teams to resolve data load or access issues.
5. Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
6. Ensure data quality, availability, and adherence to SLAs.
7. Support incident, change, and problem management processes.
8. Document runbooks, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
9. Optimize ETL workflows, SQL queries, and data load plans.
10. Ensure compliance with security and audit requirements.
Day-to-Day Activities
11. Review dashboards, logs, alerts, and job statuses.
12. Validate data loads across staging, warehouse, and downstream systems.
13. Investigate and resolve production issues or performance delays.
14. Coordinate fixes, re-runs, and deployments with engineering teams.
15. Manage tickets (ServiceNow/Jira) and provide updates in operations meetings.
16. Support business users with data or reporting issues.
17. Hand over critical issues to on-call or offshore teams when needed.
Maintenance & Proactive Work
18. Enhance existing data models as required.
19. Assist with deployments and go-live support.
20. Automate monitoring tasks and reduce manual interventions.
21. Review access controls and update documentation for operational continuity.
Required Skills & Experience
22. 6+ years of Experience supporting ETL, data pipelines, and data warehouse environments.
23. Strong troubleshooting skills across ETL tools (Matillion, Informatica, ODI, SSIS).
24. Experience with cloud platforms (Snowflake preferred).
25. Strong SQL debugging and performance tuning skills.
26. Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident/problem/change management).
27. Knowledge of data warehousing methodologies (Kimball, Inmon).
28. Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
Nice to Have
29. Experience with finance data.
30. Exposure to SAP systems and databases.
31. Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau.
