Manpower UK are pleased to be supporting our London based client in their search for a Technical lead. Our client is a retrofit consultancy working with housing associations and landlords to identify and deliver energy efficiency improvements across residential portfolios. As part of our strategic growth, we are establishing an in-house Solar PV division to complement our existing retrofit services.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Nominated Technical Person (NTP) to lead the technical setup, accreditation and delivery of this new business unit. This is a key hire with significant influence over the structure, standards and long-term success of the Solar PV division.
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility as NTP for Solar PV installations.
* Lead MCS accreditation process (documentation, audit preparation, compliance).
* Develop and implement technical standards, procedures and QA processes.
* Oversee system design (including yield calculations, system sizing, and compliance).
* Ensure all installs meet relevant standards and regulations.
* Support recruitment and training of installation teams.
* Provide technical oversight on early stage projects and pilot installs.
* Work closely with retrofit teams to integrate Solar PV into wider energy strategies.
* Maintain compliance with electrical certification bodies (NICEIC or NAPIT).
Qualifications
* Proven experience in Solar PV installation and system design.
* Previous experience acting as (or supporting) an NTP under MCS.
* Strong understanding of MCS standards and audit requirements.
* Relevant electrical qualifications (Level 3 minimum, including inspection & testing).
* Experience working with domestic and social housing projects.
* Knowledge of DNO application processes (G98/G99).
* Ability to build processes and systems from scratch.
Required Skills
* Can operate both strategically and hands-on.
* Is comfortable building a function from the ground up.
* Has strong attention to compliance and quality.
* Can lead and mentor installation teams.
* Wants to play a key role in growing a new division.
Preferred Skills
* Experience within retrofit or PAS 2035 environment.
* Experience setting up or scaling a Solar PV business unit.
* Knowledge of battery storage systems.
* Experience working with housing associations or funded schemes.
