Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Category, this role supports the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) category. The goal is to drive cost efficiencies while enhancing service quality across the board.
Contract – 6 months (with possible extension)
Location – Waterside (UB7 0GB)
Hybrid – 3 days per week on-site role
Travel – Required as per business needs
Rate - attractive daily rate (inside IR35)
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with stakeholders to manage sourcing projects, ensuring alignment withernance standards and client policies.
2. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with global MRO vendors, ensuring quality and performance align with business objectives.
3. Leadmercial supplier relationships, with a focus on optimising cost, value, and long-term performance.
4. Proactively manage supplier risk to safeguard the business against financial and reputational impacts.
5. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities using market insights and best practices.
6. Lead the end-to-end delivery ofplex sourcing projects, often under tight deadlines.
7. Partner with current and prospective suppliers to securepetitive pricing and terms, including the use of benchmarking and data-driven analysis to demonstrate value.
Qualifications
8. Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Engineering, Business, or Economics.
9. 5 to 10 years of proven experience in Procurement within the MRO sector, ideally with an airline or OEM. (Please note: candidates without relevant industry experience will not be considered.)
10. Strong business and financial acumen, with a deep understanding of procurement strategy and execution.
11. Demonstrated success collaborating with senior leaders and executives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
12. Significant procurement experience in large,plex, and globally distributed organisations.
13. Proven ability to navigate and lead through change across people, processes, policies, and technologies.
14. Advancedmercial expertise including contract evaluation, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
15. Exceptional negotiation skills with a strong eye for detail.
16. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
