Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Building Safety Manager to lead the safety and compliance of our high-risk and high-rise buildings. This is a pivotal role within our Asset Management Team, ensuring that our homes meet the highest standards of fire safety, structural integrity, and regulatory compliance under the Building Safety Act. You\'ll be responsible for developing and maintaining Building Safety Cases, coordinating fire and structural safety programmes, and ensuring that all safety systems are robust, up-to-date, and effectively managed.
Responsibilities
* Partner with the Building Safety Regulator, Fire Authority, and internal teams to deliver assurance and transparency across our housing stock.
* Engage with residents: provide clear communication, listen to concerns, and ensure they feel safe and supported in their homes.
* Contribute to internal policy development, oversee contractor safety, and support colleagues across Southway in embedding best practice in building safety.
* Develop and maintain Building Safety Cases and coordinate fire and structural safety programmes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Technical expertise in fire safety and compliance.
* Preferred qualifications: NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE/IFSM accreditation, or a Level 4 Fire Safety Diploma.
* Experience in residential housing, risk management, and working with regulatory bodies.
* Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act and related legislation.
* Strategic thinker with a safety-first mindset and a passion for delivering safe, high-quality homes.
* Confident communicator able to explain complex safety issues to residents, contractors, and other audiences; strong leadership and attention to detail.
