Description About the role We are currently seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Housing Policy Officer to join our team in London on an 18 month fixed term contract basis. We currently operate a hybrid working style, where you will spend 3 days per week working in the London office and the other 2 days working from home. What we’re looking for We’re a customer service business so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You will bring a solid understanding of housing management practices and housing law, enabling you to navigate complex issues with confidence and clarity. You’ll be able to demonstrate: Essential Skills / Experience Knowledge of landlord and tenant law, housing regulation and the public policy context in which Guinness operates. Experience of working in the social housing sector, or equivalent. Able to use judgement, influence and negotiation to deliver desired results. Able to research, critically evaluate, and accurately interpret information from multiple sources. Able to innovate and find creative solutions to resolve problems. Able to gain a deep understanding of specialist subjects, as required. Good understanding of the role policies and procedures play in achieving business compliance, improving customer service and supporting organisational change. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and equivalent IT packages. Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours. Desirable Experience of developing policies. Experience of project management. Experience of stakeholder management. Experience of report writing. Essential Qualifications Educated to degree level or equivalent. CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice, or equivalent relevant professional qualification and/or experience.
