Are you a post‑Foundation doctor looking to build a career in psychiatry? Join Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust as a Trust Grade Doctor and gain exceptional experience within our older peoples inpatient ward based at Julian Hospital, Norwich.


Job location

The Julian Hospital is a mental health hospital with 70 beds for older people situated on Bowthorpe Road in Norwich. The Older Peoples Mental Health Inpatient Services include five wards – Sandringham (male) and Blickling (female).


Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide day‑to‑day psychiatric and physical health reviews of patients under the care of a consultant psychiatrist. The post holder will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team and participate in all aspects of the service work, including attending meetings. There are also opportunities to observe assessments in other settings, and the role provides an excellent opportunity for doctors with an interest in training in psychiatry.

Qualifications

Essential

* Entry on the GMC Register

Desirable

* MRCPsych
* S12 Approval


Experience

Essential

* 3 years as a doctor post registration
* 2 years in Psychiatry at SHO/ST level or more senior
* 6 months in relevant specialism

* Driving licence / Able to travel independently
* Leadership qualities


Teaching

* Teaching and presentation skills
