Join to apply for the REACH Transplant Nurse Specialist role at NHS Tayside
The REACH Transplant (Renal Education and Choices @ Home) programme is a Scottish Government initiative to improve equity of access to living donor kidney transplantation (LDKT) in Scotland.
This initiative uses an evidence-based approach of individualised, home education sessions to provide tailored information about living donor kidney transplantation (LDKT) to suitable chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients and their support networks.
The postholder will be employed in their local renal unit (for this post NHS Tayside, Ninewells Hospital) with professional links to the REACH Transplant Programme Lead who acts as the professional support to the REACH Transplant Nurse Specialists in renal units in Boards throughout Scotland.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience To Do The Job
* Registered Nurse with valid UK NMC Registration
* Educated to SCQF Level 10 post graduate qualification for example clinical decision making or specialist renal/transplant module.
* Experience of working in renal/transplantation
* Knowledge of principles of patient education.
This is a 15 hour post with a flexible work pattern of 2 days per week. The ability to undertake regular travel to patient/family homes is an essential part of this role covering NHS Tayside.
