Salary range: £48,003 - £51,138 (pro rata) p.a. inc. London weighting

Contract: Fixed term / Secondment with line management approval (12-months)

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time

This is an opportunity to lead a high-profile community funding programme that delivers real, visible improvements across Brent’s neighbourhoods. As Community Grants Programme Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of grant funding, including NCIL, ensuring investment delivers meaningful outcomes for residents and aligns with council priorities.


What you will do

As Community Grants Programme Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of projects that strengthen neighbourhood identity, improve local infrastructure and support inclusive community development. You will:


* Lead the end-to-end management of the Community Grants Programme, including NCIL funding
* Oversee project assessment, commissioning and delivery to ensure alignment with council priorities
* Manage programme budgets, monitoring spend and ensuring transparency and value for money
* Build strong relationships with residents, community organisations and internal services
* Provide guidance and capacity-building support to community groups applying for funding
* Prepare reports, dashboards and briefings for senior officers, Corporate Management Team, political governance groups, Cabinet and committees
* Maintain accurate programme dashboards to track progress, performance and outcomes


This role offers a genuine opportunity to deliver projects that improve residents’ quality of life across Brent.


We are looking for someone with

* Proven experience managing complex programmes or projects involving multiple stakeholders
* Experience working in local government, community development or a similar public or third sector setting
* Strong financial management skills, including oversight of grant funding and budgets
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills for senior and political audiences
* Experience supporting community engagement and organisational capacity building
* The ability to work collaboratively across teams to deliver shared objectives


You will be organised, confident and comfortable balancing strategic oversight with practical delivery in a community-focused environment.
