Financial Controller,
Hybrid working (3 days office based).
In the position of
Financial Controller
, you will take ownership of all UK finance operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across the organisation's activities. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the postholder will lead a team of five and play a pivotal role in delivering timely financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and providing insight to support strategic decision-making. This position is central to safeguarding the organisation's financial health, optimising performance, and ensuring compliance with both commercial and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Development
* Lead and develop a team of five across management accounting, AP, credit control, customs compliance, and overheads.
* Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and foster a high-performing culture.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
* Manage month-end close, delivering accurate reports by working day 3.
* Lead the preparation of budgets, rolling forecasts, and financial analysis to support business performance.
Statutory & Compliance
* Oversee statutory accounts, audits, tax packs, and group reporting in line with deadlines.
* Maintain robust balance sheet controls and support audit processes.
Treasury & Cash Management
* Lead cash flow, FX, and bond forecasting.
* Manage credit control, debt collection, and approve credit limits within authority.
Oversight of Accounts Payable, Expenses and Payroll
The Profile
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA). Ideally Practice trained with an impressive financial and statutory accounting skill set. Technically (IFRS) strong ideally with IFRS 15 and transfer pricing experience.
* Strong leadership profile, able to motivate, manage and mentor.
* Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Diligent, analytical, curious with a high attention to detail.
