Recruiting for training courses from September 2025

If you are looking for a job that makes a difference to our patients, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

As a health adviser, you are the patients' first point of contact, using your skills, alongside specialist computer software, to assess their symptoms and give them the help and reassurance they need.

We offer a competitive starting salary of £24,071, rising to £25,674 after two years (per annum, pro rata). The role also includes enhanced payments for unsocial hours worked in the evenings and weekends.

We provide a range of full and part-time rotas, with a requirement to work six out of eight public holidays (pro rata depending on rota) and three weekends out of five.

Training

You will receive comprehensive, paid training to fully support our patients. You will start on a training contract, and upon successful completion, you will be offered a permanent contract.

Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity to join Yorkshire's successful 111/Integrated Urgent Care Provider (IUC). At Yorkshire Ambulance Service, you will be part of a highly skilled team based in Yorkshire, serving a diverse community.

As a 111 Health Advisor, you will assess and negotiate to ensure the best patient care and outcomes. No two calls are the same, and you will work around the clock receiving 111 calls from patients needing help. It is a rewarding role that allows you to make a real difference.

The role can be demanding, dealing with a variety of patients, including emotional situations. Successful candidates must handle calls compassionately and professionally, using strong customer service skills to manage complex and sensitive information.
