The Role
As part of our Training Academy, you’ll play a key role in qualifying our social care workforce and supporting our team of SVQ Assessors in our Qualifications Scotland Approved Centre. You will assess portfolios for the Social Services and Healthcare qualifications at SCQF levels 6 and 7, and ideally for Core Skills, Business & Administration and PDA in Supervision awards.
Responsibilities
* Prioritise your own workload and plan your week to enable you to assess candidates through technology (eportfolio, MS Teams) and provide face‑to‑face support when required.
* Work with candidates from induction to award completion, supporting them to meet Qualifications Scotland standards and agreed deadlines.
* Ensure the excellent reputation of the Academy is maintained for both internal and external stakeholders.
* Co‑operate with a team of assessors and contribute to continuous improvement of assessment practice.
Qualifications
* Experience assessing candidates across different SCQF levels in health & social care.
* Extensive health and social care experience.
* Strong confidence in using technology (eportfolios, MS Teams, Microsoft suite).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent organisational, planning and time‑management skills.
* Ability to work flexibly to meet individual needs of candidates and assessors.
* Strong interpersonal, networking and facilitation skills.
* In‑depth knowledge of Health and Social Care Standards, SSSC Codes of Practice and SSSC Registration requirements.
* SVQ qualification in assessment (e.g. L&D9DI A1 or D33).
* SVQ (or equivalent) qualification in social care at SCQF 7 or above.
* For applicants who have been out of the UK for more than 12 months within the last 10 years, a criminal record certificate may be required.
Location & Travel
Based in one of our West of Scotland offices (Irvine, Dumbarton, Glasgow or Airdrie). Flexibility to travel across Scotland when required.
Contract
Part‑time, permanent (3 days per week).
