Role Overview
The Agile Sourcing (AS) team is part of global procurement, collaborating with GPS category leaders and partners on procurement execution aligned with category strategies and industry insights. The Senior Manager will serve as the main contact for requirements gathering, sourcing, negotiation, and contracting of high-value, complex, and strategic transactions supporting GPS. This role requires understanding BMS's global value chain related to focus categories, leading high-value sourcing projects, and identifying supply optimization opportunities, with a strong emphasis on contracting.
Major Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Project Management
* Drive end-to-end sourcing and contracting strategies and support their development.
* Manage projects and support strategic initiatives.
* Communicate project updates clearly to stakeholders.
* Oversee complex sourcing events from start to finish.
Contract Drafting
* Review, draft, and negotiate routine and complex contracts with minimal supervision, consulting legal as needed.
* Guide internal stakeholders on contract risks and terms.
* Collaborate with legal to develop templates and internal guidance.
* Manage external negotiations and lead contract execution.
* Understand scientific and business needs for contracts.
* Ensure compliance with BMS policies.
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
* Gather and formalize business requirements.
* Solicit bids and proposals, evaluate offerings, and assess supplier data.
* Partner with stakeholders to award and implement procurement initiatives.
* Support compliance programs and conduct market analysis.
Stakeholder Relationship Management
* Support business partnering and strategy development.
* Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
* Consult with legal and senior leadership as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
* B.S./B.A. required; J.D./M.S./M.B.A preferred.
* At least 5 years in procurement or contract management at a large organization.
* Strong understanding of contract provisions and negotiation skills.
* Ability to analyze complex problems and communicate effectively.
* Excellent negotiation and client service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in pharma or consulting industries preferred.
* Certifications like CPM, CPIM, PMP are a plus.
