GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Lincoln. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with a background in care or previous experience supporting people with complex needs, who are passionate about helping young learners reach their full potential.
About the Role:
You will be supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), many of whom have additional physical, sensory or medical needs. The role involves providing hands-on, personalised support, assisting with communication, and ensuring students can access a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience within care or a similar support setting is essential.
* Confidence working with individuals with complex physical, medical or sensory needs.
* Someone available to work full-time, Monday–Friday.
* A patient, empathetic and resilient approach, with the ability to build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
* Willingness to support with personal care, mobility and communication, where required.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with PMLD.
* Assisting with personal care, feeding, hoisting and mobility routines (training may be provided).
* Supporting pupils with sensory activities, communication aids and therapeutic interventions.
* Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support professionals to deliver tailored learning plans.
* Helping create a calm, inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
