Overview
Due to the significant growth of the UK Public Sector business Version 1 is keen to recruit an experienced Account Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager looking for a new challenge, and the opportunity to work with large scale clients. You will develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts across the public sector in a way that delivers sales and growth targets, maximises revenue whilst delivering the highest level of customer service. The role will be part of a successful team focused on UK Public Sector opportunities. Responsibilities
* Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in line with company targets.
* Achieve account financial targets – grow the value of new and existing accounts.
* Prepare and own Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for customers, ensuring they are effective and driving completion of arising actions.
* Prepare, present, and deliver Version 1 propositions to customers confidently, both virtually and in person.
* Contribute to bid strategies to maximise winning opportunities and ensure all customer sales opportunities and bids are fully qualified and viable.
* Build and sustain a pipeline aligned to your customer horizon – grasp their 24‑month strategy, set out aligned opportunities and position Version 1 as a proactive partner.
* Effectively prioritise tasks and manage personal time while recognising and flagging issues outside your area of expertise.
* Obtain customer and partner publicity, including case studies, win wires, and press releases.
* Collate and collaborate with internal teams (Delivery, Partner Account Managers, Commercial Operations) to ensure success with bid reciprocation, contracts, and prospects for our customers.
* Travel regularly to Version 1 and customer sites across the UK and Ireland to build and invest in strong relationships.
Qualifications
* Experience working in a sales team in an account‑management capacity or similar role.
* Experience in IT Services, IT Consultancy, Technology solutions or a related industry.
* Awareness of, or the ability to learn, Public Sector tender processes including Government Frameworks.
* Influencing and communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to motivate people at multiple levels to deliver on time and with high quality.
* Confidence in completing tenders and internal documentation to a high standard using Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience of building strong customer relationships.
* Good commercial awareness and sound understanding of project and business dynamics.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and effective prioritisation of tasks.
